League emails

I'm looking to set up a Pick'Em league and just want to the players myself, and just keep them inactive until the season starts. I don't want the "league" to send out emails automatically when I create a player account, so is there a way to disable the League emails when creating these player accounts?

If you add a player using the Manager Control Panel on the Add Players or Clones page, it will not send the email out.

Just go to Manager -> Full Control Panel, then click on Add Players or Clones and add the player from there.

Ok.. that's great Fred. Thank you. I wasn't aware of that as I could only see the option to check/uncheck the email boxes until after a player account existed. So do I need to uncheck these boxes once I create each account? If I do uncheck them for now, and then just recheck them at the start of the season, would it send out the default emails at that time?

Hi Jim... I'm not certain which page you are referring to, can you let me know the URL? Perhaps the Invite Previous Players page?

Usually what I do is I'll activate my leagues without any boxes checked, then when I have everything set up I'll go to the Invite Previous Players page and check the boxes I want on that page.

The page I'm referring to is in the Manager\Full Control Panel\Edit Player Profile and then select a player. These boxes are not available when creating the player account, only afterwards. That's why I was wondering if it sends an email as soon as the account is created, and if not, do I need to uncheck the email boxes there..and recheck them when the season starts.. You said that it doesn't send emails, so it may be a moot point.. ;)

OK, I see what you are referring to. Those boxes generally only come in to play during the season, and the added player does do not get added to the admin subscriber list.
