NO vs Miami - WK 4

All players in LePrez league were given NO (with an "a"?) except 1 - Astride Delisle.

1) Why NO ?

2) Why not Astride ?

3) Could not pick because line was 'off' 

Lots of questions that I can't answer !

Sorry, I had typed a reply and must have forgot to hit enter. The NO game did not have a valid spread until Friday. If a game is off in a pickem league against the spread,  currently the logic doesn't allow you to select the team since the spread isn't yet available to store with the selection. When an autopick is made for a team without a line, the home team is chosen. 

I'm still looking into why Astrid did not get an autopick and will have to dig through some logs and get back to you on this. I do know that the week end processing that occurs after the Monday night game also checks for a No Pick game and will generate the autopick then.

OK, I figured out why Astride did not get an autopick. You have the setting that allows players to change their autopick type (Favorite, Random, home team, etc). Astride's autopick was set to 'disabled'. I went ahead and changed his autopick to favorite so he now has the NO autopick. 

This did expose a weakness in the site software, in that it should not allow a player to disable his autopick, so I've written a ticket to take care of this.

Because at the time the autopick was made, the line was OFF. This means the software can't choose the favorite since the favorite is unknown. So instead, as a backup plan, it selects the next best thing, the home team.
