loser gets demoted a bracket prematurely (last man standing mode)

I have my league setup with a 2nd place pool and the "last man standing" tie breaker option.  3 players were remaining in the 1st place bracket entering the weekend.

One player lost on Sunday, the other 2 players have the Monday night game.

The standings already show the one player dropped down to the 2nd place bracket.  If the other 2 players lose on Monday night, is the Sunday loser going to get promoted back up to the 1st place bracket?

It would be less confusing if players were not demoted to a lower place bracket (or eliminated) until there was no chance of them surviving the week (at least one player in the bracket has won his game).  So at this point in time (prior to Monday's game) I would prefer to see the one loser and the 2 yet to play players still listed in the 1st place bracket.

I checked the logic and it should promote the person back to the 1st place bracket if everyone who was in first loses that week. Since this is a new feature I plan to confirm this before the week processes by simulating an Arizona loss on the test site to make sure it behaves correctly.

I'll have to give your last point more thought. Right now I think its in the eye of the beholder on how confused a player will be. I can see myself also getting some tickets the other way (someone asking why a player hasn't dropped to the lower bracket after a loss).

it looks like week 8 results processed correctly.

My bias behind my request was based on how I managed the league manually in past years.  I would mark the win/loss ~real-time but then wait until all the games were finished before moving players between brackets.

This web site seems to be moving players between brackets mulitple times per weekend (Sunday night and again Monday night?).  Is it conceivable that a player can be in 1st place on Saturday, lose a game and get demoted to 2nd place on Sunday, and then get promoted back to 1st place on Monday when the rest of the 1st place bracket players lose?  This flip flop might cause some confusion in my opinion, but that's just my preference.

Yea, I do think its a reasonable argument. One thing I did with the two brakcet leagues, with two that I run, is allow a buyback from the 2nd place bracket back into the 1st, with the caveat that it doesn't buy you a life, it just buys you back into the 1st round.  Interestingly the players who didn't buy back into the 1st round ended up in better shape in both leagues since most players bought back into the 1st. So, in both leagues this left only two players in the 2nd place bracket, which means they have a 50% shot of taking 2nd, which is better than the 5 to 8% shot the players who bought back had in winning 1st. :) I think players will learn from this and next year we won't have so many buying back into the 1st round. Made things interesting. Really liked your idea of the 2 bracket league. :)
