Posted Dec 13, 2017 at 11:24 PM Fred, Thinking through the tie-breaker rules with 2nd place bracket and last man standing, I have a few corner case scenarios that I wonder about... Currently 4 players in 1st place with 1 loss, 1 player in 2nd place with 1 loss. If all 5 players lose at least 1 game this weekend, then everyone would have 2 losses. I'm guessing that 1st and 2nd are decided by SOV with the best SOV of the four 1st place players being the champ and the best SOV of the remaining 3 players from 1st and the one player from 2nd being the 2nd place champ. Please confirm. If one player from first place wins both games and the rest of the players lose at least one game, then the guy with only 1 loss is the champ and the SOV is used to pick the 2nd place champ from the 3 players in 1st place and the one player in 2nd place that each have 2 losses. Please confirm. If 2nd place player wins both game and all 1st place players lose at least 1 game. 2nd place player is 2nd place champ and remaining first place players have 2 losses. Game continues following week to determine 1st place? Thanks, Christopher |

The first one is correct but only if its the last week you have set for your league. Otherwise the losers in the 1st place bracket will move forward due to last-man-standing setting. The player in the 2nd place bracket would be eliminated. The 2nd one is correct. The third one I don't think is handled that way, I'll have to cover that corner case, or give managers a way to override things and set it themselves. It's turning out theat last-man-standing for 2nd place bracket leagues with two pick setting is adding a ton of complicated scenarios. Fred

Posted Dec 22, 2017 at 9:55 AM Hey Chris, It took some some doing but I finished the coding for the last corner case you mentioned, where players in the 1st place bracket can have more losses than 2nd place bracket players due to last-man-standing advances. Once all players in the 1st place bracket have at least two advances in a last-man-standing scenario (where all players in the 1st place bracket lose), if there is a single remaining player in the 2nd place bracket with one loss, that player wins the 2nd place bracket. I also fixed another corner case. If the season ends with no winner in the 1st place bracket, the player with the highest SOV in that bracket wins, and the remaining players in the 1st place bracket are dropped down if they have any prior advances due to last-man-standing (one prior advance they drop to 2nd place bracket with SOV as tiebreaker, two prior advances and they are eliminated). I'm still testing these corner cases but the implementation should be ready for the weekend. Whew, definitely the most complicated corner cases to arise on the site. :) Fred
