Each week of the fantasy football season offers new values for all players. Their performances with their NFL teams can have a significant influence on their outlook for the remainder of the year. This creates an opportunity for wise managers to capitalize on the trade market. Here are three players to buy sell ahead of Week 2 of the 2024 season.
Week 2 fantasy football buys
#1 – George Pickens
George Pickens turned in a solid performance last week, recording six receptions on seven targets for 85 yards. He did so with Justin Fields as his quarterback, but could see his value increase even more when Russell Wilson returns to the lineup. Also the trade analyzer suggests acquiring him for reasonable price of Gus Edwards and Gabe Davis.
#2 – Stefon Diggs
Stefon Diggs entered the 2024 season with a questionable outlook after joining the Houston Texans’ loaded wide receivers. In his first game with his new team, he hauled in all six of his targets and scored two touchdowns. His role could continue to grow as he develops chemistry with CJ Stroud, but his promising start makes him an ideal target to buy now.
#3 – Jameson Williams
Jameson Williams broke out in a major way in Week 1, finishing as the overall WR2 in fantasy football. One of the biggest weaknesses of the Detroit Lions last year was their WR2 spot, but they may have solved it with Williams. He has endured a long road back from injuries and a suspension, but he appears ready to finally take on larger workload in an elite offense.
Week 2 fantasy football sells
#1 – Rachaad White
Rachaad White struggled with his efficiency last year, which resulted in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafting Bucky Irving. While White is still currently their starter, he was outperformed by Irving as a rusher in their first game. If this trend continues, the rookie may see his workload continue to increase, making White an ideal candidate to cash in on now before it’s too late to get value back for him.
#2 – Gus Edwards
Gus Edwards had high expectations entering the 2024 season as the starting running back for the Los Angeles Chargers. He was outshined by JK Dobbins last week, who bounced back from injury with a major performance. Their roles could potentially change going forward if Dobbins stays healthy, so it may be time to move on from Edwards in fantasy football.
#3 – Terry McLaurin
Terry McLaurin saw his fantasy outlook improve when the Washington Commanders moved on from Jahan Dotson during the offseason. The veteran was unimpressive in Week 1, recording just two receptions on four targets. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels excels more as a rusher than a passer, so McLaurin’s value may be on the decline. Managers should sell him now before he’s undesirable.
