Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts of the Super Bowl champion Eagles are easily this generation's most successful quarterbacks outside of Future Hall of Famer Tom Brady. With the 2025 NFL season now upon us, it's time to take a quick look at which quarterbacks to look out for.

Dak Prescott: The Undisputed Starter

With Jerry Jones pulling off the shocking trade of Micah Parsons to the Packers, all eyes shift to Prescott. Prescott had a lot to prove coming into the 2024 season after a torn hamstring cut his 2024 campaign short. But the numbers he posted in 2023 were enough to show the caliber of quarterback he is after completing 69.5% of his passes for 4,516 yards and 36 touchdowns and an MVP candidate. With Parsons gone, the ball is clearly in Prescott's hands for the 2025 season.

Jayden Daniels: The Great Follow-Up

The number 2 pick in last year's Draft won Offensive Rookie of the Year while guiding Washington to its most wins in a regular season since 1991. Daniels threw for over 3,500 yards and 25 touchdowns, while rushing for 891 yards and six touchdowns and became one of the most popular players for NFL betting sites and sportsbooks, including Rookie of Year futures and Fantasy Football Drafts.. But what cemented his ranking in the top 10 was his ability to lead the Commanders to the NFC Championship. Can Daniels follow it up in his sophomore campaign, or will he regress?

Baker Mayfield: The Quarterback Arrives

Mayfield broke out in 2024, completing 71.4% of his passes for 4,500 yards and 41 passing touchdowns while leading the Buccaneers back to the playoffs. While Mayfield will be without one of his top weapons in Chris Godwin to start the season, Tampa Bay drafted Emeka Egbuka in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. They also have elite pass-catching options on the perimeter and in the backfield in Mike Evans and Bucky Irving. The pressure is on Mayfield to continue becoming the quarterback he was initially drafted to be.

Jared Goff: Can He Get off the Hump?

Goff had a career resurgence in the last two seasons while playing in offensive coordinator Ben Johnson's system. Last season, he completed 72.4% of his passes for 4,629 yards and 37 touchdowns. But, in 2025, he will have to adapt to life without Johnson, as he was hired as the Chicago Bears head coach, while the Lions hired John Morton as their new OC. Lions fans are on bended knee, hoping to finally make their first Super Bowl with Goff behind center.

Jalen Hurts: Can He Keep the Eagles Soaring?

Hurts made his second Super Bowl and won his first ring last season. That being said, he wasn't as prolific of a passer in 2024 as he threw for a career-low of 2,903 passing yards and 18 touchdowns. Those numbers were more of a function of the Philadelphia Eagles' successful commitment to their running game, which included Hurts rushing for 630 yards and 14 touchdowns and Saquon Barkley rushing for a career-high 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns. With so many free agent losses, the pressure is on Hurts to help the Eagles repeat.

The 2025 NFL Season Is Finally Here

All eyes will also be on the Colts and the Saints this upcoming NFL season. Recently, the Colts announced that Daniel Jones will be the starting quarterback for the Week 1 game against the Miami Dolphins. Also, the Saints are starting Rattler at quarterback over the rookie Shough. However, if Rattler struggles, look for Shough to get behind the center.
