This year the drafts are filled with amazing players in every position. It seems like we are finally out of the Pandemic-based drag from previous years, and now we can see an abundance of fantastic players to shake up the NFL draft odds.
Bryce Young – Quarterback – Alabama
The first player on everyone’s mind is Bryce Young. This quarterback is a playmaker, creating unusual situations that allow his teammates to break from the pack and prevent a stale game.
Young understands the structure of the game and knows when to break it.
Stats-wise, Young is already making a name for himself. He finished 2021 with the Heisman and a 92.2 grade, in 2022 he continued this level of greatness with a 91.5 grade.
Jalen Carter – Defensive Tackle – Georgia
If you are looking for the best NFL draft picks for your fantasy football team, look no further than Jalen Carter. He is the best defensive tackle we have seen for almost a decade.
For an easy comparison, look at Quinnen Williams on the New York Jets. They are essentially the same player, but Williams is a little bit quicker and Cater is a little bit stronger.
Carter finished his 2022 games with a grade of 92.3 – the highest grade of the year.
Will Anderson Jr – Edge – Alabama
Anderson was originally a defensive lineman, but in the last couple of years, he has swapped to the edge. He made the change with ease and is now dominating this position.
What makes Anderson stand out is their ability to both bend with the ball and burst through his opponents. Very few players can do both, even at an NFL level. With this in mind, we know that Anderson will do well.
Another amazing aspect about Anderson is his reliability. As an edge, the whole team relies on his defensive skills to keep his opponents at bay, and Anderson can handle that responsibility. He always gets to position in time and his 253 weight cannot be pushed past easily.
Will Levis – Quarterback – Kentucky
We have reached our first repeated position, and of course, it’s a quarterback. Some people might be surprised by our placement of WIll Levis, especially considering his weak SEC plays.
Each week he is battling to stay in the top percentile, and you can tell that the struggle was getting to him. Some say that the SEC is a great way to break college players in, but in reality, it’s a test of ability which doesn’t always translate well on the field.
In the end, he earned a grade of 90.6, which is good, but Levis could have done better.
We suggest looking at Levis’ skills on the field rather than his SEC to see his real potential.
C.J. Stroud – Quarterback – Ohio State
Stroud is another quarterback for us to consider. Because so many players in this position are strong, any team that needs a new quarterback shouldn’t have any trouble getting the player they need.
What makes this player stand out his is accuracy. He is the most accurate quarterback in the drafts, he rarely misses layups and would rather play it safe than risk a messy throw.
Of course, this type of reliability requires a good wide receiver too, so the teams cannot accept greatness unless it comes from both sides.
Because of his accuracy, Stroud often plays as a pocket passer. He likes to be in the middle of the field, in the action to get the most passes in the intermediate range.
Anthony Richardson – Quarterback – Florida
Normally we would start adding different positions to our prospects lists, but this article isn’t about diversity, it’s about the best.
Our 6th best prospect is Anthony Richardson, another quarterback. Richardson is filled with talent, from this great arm strength and fast-paced speed. However, his grade was only 80.1 overall.
Devon Witherspoon – Cornerback – Illinois
This season has been Witherspoon’s best. In 2022 he was targeted 63 times, but in that time he only allowed 22 catches. The 22 catches only amounted to 206 yards total.
He also completed 17 pass breakups. Witherspoon is a daring cornerback and a feisty one at that.
Peter Skoronski – Offensive Tackle – Northwestern
And how we can mention the top prospects without bringing up Skoronski.
One of his best qualities is his hands. He can catch any ball near him, as his grip, speed, and daring nature makes the offensive tackle a slippery opponent.
In the latest season, Skoronski only allowed 6 pressures through 474 pass-blocking snaps. He started this season as a left tackle and now is considered the best offensive tackle in the drafts.
Final Thoughts
This season is filled with amazing talent in every aspect of the game. The position leading the drafts, though, is the quarterback. This is great news for the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Carolina Panthers, and New York Jets – all of whom need a new quarterback on their team.
The Jets, however, might have a trade deal coming in soon, which means our quarterbacks will likely be snapped up by the other 4 teams for an easy split.
