- Pool Format
This is a Survivor-style pool for the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament (play-in games are not included). Each day of the tournament you pick exactly one team. If your team wins, you advance to the next day. If your team loses, you are eliminated from the pool. The entry that survives the longest wins the pool (subject to the tie-breaker rules below).
Once you pick a team, you may not pick that team again later in the tournament. - Point Spreads
This pool does not use point spreads. All results are scored straight up: if your team wins the game, your pick is a win; if your team loses, your pick is a loss. - Daily Picks
You will make one pick per day of the tournament (again, excluding the play-in games). As long as you continue to win and still have eligible teams available to pick, you remain alive in the pool. - Tie-Breakers
The following tie-breaker rules apply for determining final standings:- If two or more entries are still alive and are all eliminated on the same day, they will be considered tied and will share that finishing position.
- If an entry advances to a new day but has no unused teams left that it can pick, that entry loses to any entry that reaches that same day and still has at least one eligible team to pick, even if the other entry’s pick for that day ends up losing.
- If two or more entries successfully pick the National Championship winner, those entries will be considered tied.
- Daily Pick Deadlines
The default pick deadline is 10:00 PM Eastern each day, unless the pool manager changes it. The manager may set a deadline that is later than the first game tip-off for a round, but you can never submit or change a pick for a game that has already started.
Once the daily deadline has passed, you can no longer enter or edit that day’s pick.
For the Elite 8 round, the pick deadline for both Elite 8 picks will be on Saturday. You will not be able to submit or adjust Elite 8 picks on Sunday or after the Saturday Elite 8 deadline.
